The third trimester is exciting, but it can also be pretty uncomfortable! Between sleep struggles, swelling, heartburn, and a growing belly, having the right products can make a huge difference. These third trimester essentials are practical, comforting, and designed to help support your body as you prepare for birth.
Whether you’re a first-time mom or heading into the final stretch again, these products can help you feel more comfortable, supported, and prepared.
Elevated Wedge Pillow
Sleep becomes increasingly difficult during the third trimester, especially with reflux, back pain, and pressure. An elevated wedge pillow provides targeted support for your belly, back, or legs and can help reduce heartburn and improve circulation.
This pillow is especially helpful if a full pregnancy pillow feels too bulky but you still need extra support while sleeping or resting.
Why it helps:
- Reduces acid reflux and heartburn
- Supports your belly and lower back
- Easy to reposition throughout the night
Pregnancy Pillow for Side Sleepers
Side sleeping is recommended during pregnancy, but it’s not always comfortable. A pregnancy pillow for side sleepers supports your bump, hips, knees, and back all at once, helping relieve pressure and improve sleep quality.
As your belly grows, this becomes one of the most-used products during the third trimester.
Why it helps:
- Promotes better sleep positioning
- Reduces hip and back pain
- Provides full-body support
Gaviscon (Heartburn Relief)
Heartburn is one of the most common third trimester complaints. As baby grows, pressure on your stomach increases, making reflux hard to avoid. Gaviscon is a pregnancy-safe option many moms rely on for fast heartburn relief.
Always check with your healthcare provider before using any medication during pregnancy.
Why it helps:
- Relieves pregnancy-related heartburn
- Works quickly
- Safe for many pregnant women when approved by a doctor
Belly Band
A belly band can be a game-changer in the third trimester. It helps lift and support your growing belly, reducing pressure on your lower back and pelvis — especially if you’re on your feet often.
This is a great option for daily wear, running errands, or light activity.
Why it helps:
- Reduces lower back and pelvic pain
- Improves posture
- Provides extra support as baby grows
Compression Socks
Swelling in the feet and ankles is very common late in pregnancy. Compression socks help improve circulation and reduce swelling, especially if you sit or stand for long periods. These compression socks from Amazon are my favorite! They’re easy to put on and provide great support.
They’re also great for travel, workdays, or hospital bag prep.
Why they help:
- Reduce swelling in feet and legs
- Improve circulation
- Help prevent discomfort and fatigue
Slip-On Shoes
Bending down to put on shoes becomes harder as your belly grows. Slip-on shoes are a simple but essential third trimester item that makes daily life easier and more comfortable.
Look for pairs with good arch support and room for swelling.
Why they help:
- Easy to put on without bending
- Comfortable for swollen feet
- Perfect for errands and everyday wear
Comfy Pregnancy Pants
Comfort is everything during the third trimester. Comfy pregnancy pants with a stretchy waistband or over-the-belly support allow room for your growing bump while still feeling secure and soft. Pretty much anytime I wasn’t at work, I had these pregnancy joggers on.
These are ideal for lounging, running errands, or even casual outings.
Why they help:
- Stretchy and supportive
- Designed for a growing belly
- Comfortable for all-day wear
Belly Oil
Stretch marks are sometimes inevitable during pregnancy.. but a good belly oil/cream can help keep your skin moisturized and comfortable as it stretches, which can support skin elasticity and reduce dryness and itching commonly associated with pregnancy.
I, personally, used Roe throughout my whole pregnancy. Some people are definitely more prone to getting stretch marks throughout their pregnancy. I didn’t get any stretch marks, and I’d like to think this duo of belly serum and stretch mark cream helped with this!
Final Thoughts
The third trimester can be physically demanding, but the right products can make it more manageable. These third trimester must-haves focus on comfort, support, and easing common pregnancy symptoms so you can focus on resting and preparing for your baby’s arrival.
Every pregnancy is different, so choose what works best for your body — and don’t feel guilty about prioritizing comfort during this final stretch.
