Postpartum Essentials For The New Mom

Ext 1

Easy, stretchy clothing

Something like this Two Peace Lounge Set from Amazon is great to wear postpartum. It’s comfy and stretchy, so it doesn’t hug places you don’t want showing! It’s hard when you come home from the hospital and nothing fits right. Wearing something cute but comfortable can help you feel like yourself again.

Electrolytes

It’s really important to take care of yourself postpartum! Drinking electrolytes will help keep you hydrated and help wake you up and replenish nutrients lost if breastfeeding. These BodyArmor drinks (Amazon) are a great way to stay hydrated!

Compression Socks

You will most likely swell up after giving birth. Compression socks will help promote blood circulation and oxygen flow helping with fatigue and lower leg swelling. These compression socks from Amazon aren’t like your grandma’s compression socks. They’re easy to get on and great to wear while pregnant too!

Frida Mom Postpartum Kit

Although I do feel this kit (Amazon) is a bit pricey, I did use everything in it. The diapers/underwear that came with it were way better than what you’re given in the hospital and the peri bottle is a life saver!

Nipple Shields

If you’re going to breastfeed or pump, these shields (Amazon) will help a lot those first few weeks with the initial pain that comes with it.

Belly Band

I can’t promise you wearing a belly band like this one from Amazon will make you snatched right after birth, but it may help shrink your belly a little quicker and just make you feel better. It’s hard when nothing fits postpartum, but this may help your clothes fit as well.

Nursing Bra

If you’re going to try to breastfeed or pump, a nursing bra is a must! This is my favorite bra that’s easy for breastfeeding mamas but also holds in your wearable pumps.
