1. Sleep Sac/Swaddle
LoveToDream is by far my favorite swaddle. The two way zipper makes it so easy to get them in the swaddle and easily change diapers throughout the night. The hands up feature puts them in a natural sleep position, and I believe this made it easier to transition out of the swaddle as well.
2. Floor Gym
This floor gym (Amazon) is great for newborns all the way up to toddlers. Your newborn will love looking up at the toys and as they get older, they will love kicking the piano. The piano adjusts, so it’s great to use as your baby learns to sit as well.
3. High contrast baby “book” (Amazon)
I say “book” because it’s more like a long strip of photos, but this is great for your newborn to look at. The high contrast photos are easier for them to see and offers developmental benefits. You’ll notice your newborn loves to look at lights and fans, so this gives them something new to focus on.
4. Baby lounger
A baby lounger is great to have somewhere to lay your baby down and for supervised naps. This was by far one of our most used items the first few months.
5. Mittens
You’d be surprised how sharp baby’s nails can be and how fast they grow! These mittens from Amazon came in handy to prevent our baby from scratching himself.
6. Baby headphones
As much as you try to avoid loud areas for your baby, it’s inevitable you’ll run into a loud area. Whether it’s a sporting event or a birthday part, these headphones (Amazon) are great to keep in the diaper bag! They don’t seem to bother our baby and definitely help block out the noise.
7. Bamboo Towels
These towels (Amazon) are so soft, and I love that they come in different sizes!
8. Fan
When summer hits, it’s great to have a fan (maybe two!) for your baby. These fans (Amazon) wrap around the stroller and have different a few different settings as well as a light.
9. Thin Blankets
I love to throw these blankets (Amazon) in the diaper bag. They’re not big and bulky, so they won’t take up much room in your bag. They’d be great for a nursing mom to cover up with but also great to lay down for baby to lay/play on.
10. Glider
I would say a rocker/glider is an absolute necessity. There’s nothing better than rocking your baby. It’s a time you’ll never forget. This glider isn’t too expensive (especially if you can find it on sale) and is electric, so it’s easy to recline with a baby in your hands.
