Breastfeeding isn’t always smooth sailing, and a clogged duct is one of the most common challenges moms face. If you’re dealing with a painful lump or slow milk flow, this guide will walk you through gentle, effective ways to clear it and feel better fast.

Sunflower Lecithen

This is my go-to when I have a clogged duct. The bottle will recommend taking more to relieve the duct and then 1-2 a day to maintain once the clog is gone. I love this brand!

Probiotics

Studies have found that probiotics containing Limosilactobacillus fermentum or lactobacillus salivaris can help with clogged ducts and mastitis.

Advil 800mg every 8 hrs for 48 hrs

Advil will help with inflammation which will then help your clogged duct and help relieve pain associated with it.

Ice

Icing the breast will help with local inflammation caused by the clogged duct. These ice packs from Amazon make it eazsy to ice on the go!

Light massage

There’s some controversy behind gently rubbing the clogged duct or deep massage. You’ll want to be gentle with this area and don’t want to cause more damage, so gentle massage is recommended.
