Love To Dream Swaddle Review: Why It’s My Favorite for Newborn Sleep

There’s something about those early newborn days that makes every decision feel huge. When I first brought my baby home from the hospital, I quickly realized that sleep—his and mine—was going to depend on finding the right swaddle. And honestly? I didn’t expect it to be as stressful as it was.

I tried a few traditional swaddles at first, and they just didn’t work for me. I was constantly second-guessing myself—was it too tight? Too loose? Was there extra fabric near his face? In those foggy, sleep-deprived nights, the last thing I needed was more worry. I wanted something simple, safe, and reliable.

That’s when I discovered the Love To Dream Swaddle, and it helped my night time anxiety so much! Here’s a list of some of the reasons I love this swaddle.

Easy To Use

From the very first use, I felt a sense of relief. No complicated wrapping, no velcro to wrestle with in the dark, and no loose material to adjust. It simply zips right up, and that ease alone made a huge difference for my new-mom brain. I could finally put him down without second-guessing every fold and tuck.

“Hands Up” Design

One of my favorite features is the “hands up” design. My baby always seemed to want his arms near his face, and this swaddle actually allows that. It gave him the ability to self-soothe naturally, which meant longer stretches of sleep and a much happier baby overall.

The Two Way Zipper

Middle-of-the-night diaper changes also became so much easier thanks to the two-way zipper. Instead of fully unwrapping him and starting from scratch, I could quickly unzip from the bottom, change him, and zip him right back up. It made those overnight wake-ups feel just a little more manageable.

Safety/TOG Options

Safety was another big factor for me, and I loved knowing this swaddle is recognized as hip-healthy. It also comes in different fabric weights (TOG ratings), and the brand provides clear guidance on which one to use based on room temperature. That took away another layer of guesswork and helped me feel confident that my baby was comfortable and safe through the night.

Grows With Your Baby

What I didn’t fully appreciate at first—but have come to love—is how this brand grows with your baby. We started with the newborn swaddle, and around three months, we switched to the transition swaddle. This swaddle has removable sleeves, so as your baby shows signs of rolling, you can remove the sleeves. I really liked how easy this transition was. We kept one arm out for a couple of weeks before removing both sleeves, which helped him adjust gradually out of the swaddle instead of all at once.

By around seven months, we moved into the long-sleeve sleep sack, and the transition felt completely natural. It’s been comforting to stick with a system that evolves alongside him, instead of constantly searching for something new every few months.

Looking back, this is one of those products I genuinely wish I had known about sooner. It simplified our nights, eased my anxiety, and helped my baby sleep more comfortably. And during those early months, that kind of peace of mind is truly priceless.

I also recommend buying two swaddles to have on hand for your newborn. Accidents are bound to happen, and it’s really nice when you can just grab your second swaddle in the middle of the night when the inevitable happens!
